Daisy and her behaviour.

Once again everyone that knows my horror Daisy knows that she has never liked puppies, she has actually been attacked yet again a few weeks ago 2 young girls no older than 10 years old out with a dog and it was a staffie (everytime she has been attacked its another staff), They saw us and let go of their female dog daisy was fine at 1st then this dog started circling her and it all took off thank god i saw what was happening and picked her up so that dog only bruised her chest, and daisy had hold of the other dogs head but also thankfully did no serious damage.

She is very aggressive on the lead to any dog now which breaks my heart, but next week Tuesday at 4pm we have our 1st meeting with a behaviourist so hopefully we can get this sorted out.

I am just terrified that she will have the attitude of bite 1st and think later she has been attacked what 4 times in her 10months of age.

I will keep you updated on her 1st meeting with the behaviourist he better be good for what he charges lol.

Jackie just chill. The behavourist will sort it all out for you.

The kids went off screaming like any kid would do paul had hold of the other dog, the kids big brothers came running over beer in hand screaming at us swearing omg i almost had a heart attack they went right up to paul in his face paul had not long had surgery i went nuts at them.

We just walked away i phoned the police to report what happened we were worried that the parents might come around screaming and shouting too, but obviously they were not as bad as the big brother was.

The couple of times we have taken the doggies out we tend to go to fields where no other dogs are which is no good for my doggies they need to socialise with other dogs but i'm just so worried daisy will react.

We will get her sorted eventually.

cassie has been attacked twice by a black lab, the first time she was only 12weeks old, its horrible

Oh god how scary!

The behaviourist should be able to offer you loads of advise and hopefully start getting her just to be calm around other dogs.

I am not a lover of anyone under the age of 18 having control of a dog regardless of breed IMO it should not be aloud.

It must have been very scary for you all not only the obsence issues you had to deal with the older brothers but also seeing the kids scream and your girl get all worked up.



I hope the behaviourist helps you work out the issues

Gosh how frightening for you and Daisy - I am not surprised Daisy reacted this way to be honest - I am sure my boys would have reacted the same in this situation -

I also agree those girls should not have been allowed to walk their pet - thank goodness no one was hurt.

Good luck with the classes - try not to get upset this was a totally different circumstance by what I have read xx

i agree my sons mate comes with his staffy pup and she takes him for a walk now he is only 11 , they have been my house i put buffy up as the pup is a nipper and i worry she will nip buffy and buffy will nip back
i tell her off when she is here but pointless as soon as i tell her off they praise her , ive tried getting hold of parents but they dont care grrr

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. Daisy is only young and I am sure that this can be sorted out with the help of the behaviourist.

If it helps when we first started training classes there was a GSD that was very agressive with other dogs and attended class wearing a muzzle. I must admit I was a bit hesitant about him being in the class but within 4 weeks that dog was coming to class without a muzzle and could socialise with the other dogs off the lead. He and Reuben became very firm friends and had you asked me at the outset if that had been the case I would never had believed it was possible. He was two years old. What I am trying to say is that with time and patience most issues can be overcome.

Hope everything goes well on Tuesday. May I ask if it a recommendation or a particular company you are seeing?

It was a card in my vets, and i will give anyone a try once and see how it goes.

If anyone can reccommend anyone that are reasonably priced i would be grateful we live in Wiltshire.

I have two boys age 13yrs and 11yrs and they will not be allowed to walk roxy without us.

Even the dog we sadly had to get put to sleep in january they were not allowed to walk him by themselves.

It would have been ok if they didnt let go of the dog. But i agree i actually thought it was law that no child under the age of 16 should be in control of a dog.

I havent heard of any law of a child not being able to walk a dog. But basicaly its common sense that a young child not walk a dog, as dogs can have some strength or easily be scared and could easily drag the child into a road. If a child has full control of a small dog if the dog abeys maybe let them take it, My two boys had full control he would listen/do everythin that they said but i would never allow them out alone with him.
