| We adopted Millie from a rescue four months ago, and she's since been diagnosed with irritable bowel disease (possibly why she was abandoned, we think ... ). She's on a strict diet of Purina HA food (nothing else), but we have established before she went on to that that she can also tolerate venison. She's got a huge amount of energy and I'd love to find her something to chew on (she's only interested in destroying things, of course: stuffed toys of any sort last around 5 minutes) to keep her occupied. I've recently been trying deer antler, which she adores, but I don't think it's doing her system any good, as the diarrhoea has come back a little bit and she's lost a bit of weight again since she started with them.
If anyone has any ideas for anything I could give her to play with/chew/destroy (bearing in mind her IBD) I'd be really grateful!

| Shame about the antler bars as they last for ages.
You could buy a kong extreme, mix her kibble with water and then stuff it into the kong and freeze it.
Would you consider a spring pole in your back garden? I used to tie a piece of cow hide to mine and they went mad for it, I had to ensure that they didn't eat it but it's a good form of excercise especially if she likes playing tuggie

| Many thanks - like the idea for the Kong stuffed with frozen kibble - especially as the weather seems to be getting warmer! | |

| She's certainly very pretty - just need to get her to put a bit more weight on!
Thanks again for the Kong idea. Have been mixing some of the food with water and stuffing the Kong with it, unfrozen - works really well!

| Great news, there is an old post somewhere with Kong recipes that you may be able to adapt to her diet, I'll see if I can find it | |
