**UPDATED** Rocco Shoulder Injury / Strain Empty
PostSubject: **UPDATED** Rocco Shoulder Injury / Strain   **UPDATED** Rocco Shoulder Injury / Strain EmptyWed 26 Oct 2016, 8:40 am

Well Rocco had developed a limp which after rest didn't seem to impove

We checked his paw and pads but saw nothing

On Saturday I took Rocco to vets for his annual booster - he weighed in at 20.8kg which was less than last time (we have been trying to make them both loose a little weight) so I was pleased with the small loss of weight.

The vet said he thinks the limp could be arthritis but he mentioned he has muscle wastage on that shoulder.

I am not 100% convinced though as Rocco chip has moved onto that shoulder blade and I feel this could be causing scar tissue / limping.

He is on Yumove and Anti Inflammatory Meds - hopefully after the course I may see some improvement - but I am going to ring the vet and ask for an xray to be done to determine the actual cause.

Rocco is absolutely fine in himself so no other side effects - just the limp

Will keep you posted xx

Update - Rocco went back to vets on Saturday and there is definate muscle wastage, cause unknown at this stage.

Xrays are been done on Wednesday - hopefully we will get some news from this.

If nothing can be found then they may refer Rocco for an MRI scan

I am a little concerned about the outcome, but we will just have to wait and see what results we get from the xrays.

Will keep you posted

Sorry yes

Xrays done yesterday - 1st diagnosis is a little arthritis and bicep tensosynovitis.

So for next 4 weeks - limited lead walks only - no excessive jumping - no jogging with us - on anti inflammatory meds at present

If no improvement then MRI scan maybe suggested as next step

Rocco has a coat to keep his joint warm, and we ordered a jumper too

Thank you for asking xx

Fingers crossed it sorts itself out with the limited walks and meds. I've never heard of it before but it seems quite common after reading the link

Hi - well it's only been a few days but by introducing all of our new routine, we can see an improvement, we just hope these improvements continue xx

Me neither, but it does make you realise how common this condition is.
